    Intake / Exhaust Plan

    Ok so here's my plan...

    2005 2.4L MIVEC

    Weapon-R Secret Weapon Intake:

    Dynomax VT Muffler w/ tip:

Custom 2.5" Mandrel Bent Catback pipes made from local shop.

I think 2.5" will have a meaner sound than the stock 2.25". Then the Dynomax VT will sound nice and quiet until I stomp on the gas, keeping me at a lower profile. And of course the intake will sound nice too. Nice sound over all when I get on the gas but a sleeper when idling or driving conservatively. I don't think I'll need a high flow catalytic converter since I'm running a 2.4L.

    What do you guys think?

I wish I could make up my mind before I drop cash on a set up. Some people say keep the stock 2.25" and the stock resonator because it adds to the deep sound and just put on a nice muffler. Others say the resonator quiets the sound. Some say put 2.5" straight pipe cat back with a nice muffler.

Is there anybody who HAS the actual set up they are promoting and willing to share sound clips or a video on youtube?

I refuse to drop $700 on a Magnaflow catback, just to have to spend more money to have it extended from the Eclipse version to our G's. Seems like a waste when you can just have the pipes custom made/bent at a shop for around 150.

Too bad Megan Racing only makes a Cat Back for the 99-02 2.4L/I4. That's what I have and it sounds deep. It is the full 3 piece kit, has a removable silencer, a resonator, and is all polished stainless. Nice piece of work, and was cheap in my book at $325.

Well since nobody likes to search I'll do the searching for you. I've had the 8g version for more than a year with no problems and I have a V6 which requires cut/weld. The money I spent on this was a fraction to what a name brand catback could of been. If money IS your concern then this would be a better option for you.

(although it says "V6" just cut/weld it for the i4 guys)
