    Quick Exhaust Question

    Sorry if this is obvious but im jus checkn. If the 6G74 exhaust and 6G72 Exhaust would be identical at the block? Like say with the 74 swaped in the 8G... I searched an couldnt pull anything up.

    you mean the cast manifolds, before the precats? If so, I'm pretty sure they're different.

    Right, like if u were replacing headers for the 74, would u buy headers for the 74 and then get the rest of the exhaust like normal for the V6 galants

    If you know how to weld, you can do like I did. I installed RPW headers for the 72 on my 75. Had to extend the downpipe slightly, and make a short section of pipe to replace the cat.

    You would have to use headers made for the 74 as the block is taller. You might get away with some modifications on 72 headers like mentioned above, but for bolt on, that would be best. Than you can bolt up your aftermarket exhaust of choice. Or you could run a setup like this: 74 exh manis, 72 or 74 cats, 72 downpipe, 72 exhaust. I'm not sure if there were differences between the fedspec and calispec diamantes regarding physical dimensions of their exh. setup (like there was on the 3G), but if no, that would be an easy way to go catless on a 74 swap. And if you decide to go with a 2G or 3G catback, you'll be welding anyway.

    Alright...im not a welder so it would be bolt on. I'm jus lookn for what i may need down the road, makin sure if I knew quite how to do it. Thanks guys

    You V6 swapped guys are not running cats right?
