it sounds like it might be the valve seals or the piston rings.do you smell burnt oil?

Im guessing you have a I4 engine. How many miles? Also what does the smoke smell like? a nasty burnt oil smell or is it more sweater smelling?

It is most likely your valve seals. Tell us more about when you see it. If you give it gas, does it keep coming out? Or does it only do it after idling for a little bit?

If it was the head gasket, there'd be white smoke.

yeah is sounds like valve seals or worn piston rings allowing oil to pass through and burning it out of the exhaust.when a car burns oil it is a blue color if it was the headgasket it would be white smoke not blue.but this is common for a high mileage engine.

Oil leak some wheres, allowing oil to be burnt.
The question is where though. And that can not be known without tearing down the engine.

^Exactly, but seeing as it is probably a constant leak leads me to believe it's the piston rings. Which sucks, cause you have to tear it down to get to them i believe. Valve seals are easier. I've had my valve seals go, and they caused a cylinder 2 misfire. Pulled the plug and it was covered in oil.

Yeah it should be fine. As long as you don't try to turbo it or anything the tranny will be fine. I have an intake and bigger throttle body on mine.

I'd recommend spending the money on fixing it before modifying it. Maintenance is VERY important.
