Car starting issue. New G owner

2004 ES.....Every once in a great while i'll go to start my car while the engine is cold and I go to turn the key and it acts like it wants to start but doesnt actually start the motor. but when I let off and turn the key again immediately, the car starts right up. Maybe once a month it does this. No battery problems or starter issues that I could find. Could any of you guys help me with this?

It could be the crank angle sensor.

It is located behind a plastic cover next to the harmonic balancer.

I have had this failure and it is reported as code U1120 by the MUT3 tester.

But that code says CAN BUS ERROR.

That confused us for a long time because the auto trans reports it.

Don't get caught...it's an easy fix and the part is about a hundred dollars.

Some people have reported that the battery voltage gets low near the end of the bettery's life and produces a crank sensor CEL
