    2004 Galant w/o infinity sound syster. Installed a Alpine head unit. How do I get rid of the e com error message on the top display?

    I got the same error, and apparently it can't be removed. The only solution I've seen is to buy a reverse wiring harness, and then use it to bury your old headunit somewhere inside the dash.

    It sounded like a fire hazard to me, so I opted to just deal w/ it.

    I'll take a piece of flat black plastic and trim it to fit over the E com message. two drops of removable rubber cement.... result..message gone.
