You definitely have to use the evo pickup with the pan. On my first car I didnt know this since it is one of things that gets swept under the rug. I ended up picking one up.

I posted a pic above with both oil pans side by side, there you can see that the pick up enters in a different place on the evo one therefore you need the evo pick up to be able to install that pan

Yep pretty much. On ivory i even cut the old pickup and had it welded and it still wasn't right.

I know what they look like, I had to swap them out also. I was stating that, even that they bolt up to the same spot, if you manage to fit the the 4g63 oil pan with the 64 pick up tube, I wonder what the effects would be.

getting close just bought another evo8 turbo for real cheap, also down pipe and o2 housing came in, no sure if im going to use the oil sandwich adapt of pick up a evo oil filter houseing yet, also got stainless braided oil and water line as well, just need to figure out the rest of the length to where it will connect to, ill do that once i have it all mocked up, still need a wide band, boost gauge, oil pan, exhaust flanges, and intercooler

should i use the evo FPR or run an after market one? i picked up a fpr adapter and guage.
oil pan is questionable, not sure if i can find a evo one for cheap or just modify the stocker

Nice!!! A lot of people are going with the evo filter housing since it sits up higher. I had a greddy sandwich adapter plate and am rocking that. I use mitsu filters so maybe thats why it seems to sit higher up this time around. I used the stock evo fpr both times and its awesome. 1:1 rising rate is all you need until you need to start running specific fuel pressure to get every drop of flow out of your fuel system. The oil pan and pickup is just a searching game

Cant bee done. The g oil pick up tube is way long. Even if u cut the evo pan to fit the g pick up is inches alway from touching the bottom of the pan. Not good for oil flow, you will end up bottlenecking the oil flow.

A tune would make a little more power and make it smoother, but if your going turbo I wouldn't waste money for a n/a tune

it will be some time before i go boost, before i go boost i like todo some autox, and get a feel the car before i go boost,
i have my own reasons for this, i just dont want to go straight into autox with a turbo car,

I enjoyed that video, had a big smile on my face, it sounds so much like my old car! Man I miss that car, that 4-banger has a distinctive sound. All things considered that's not bad for a fully stock motor, but yeah I'd think you could gain a little more from bolt-ons, but I guess that all depends on the tune.
