aftermarket alarm install for the 9g

Hi guys, im finnally buying an alarm system for my whip. I think im going with (Magnadyne PLUS-6900 Convertible Combo) from Sonic Electronix. i know it sais convertibles but it comes with alot of sensors which I could use. my key had a chip. so does that mean i need another key or can i get a bypass modual? Also I want to try and do this myself. can someone help me with the wireing? any diagrams?

never heard of that brand...how much is it? You could get a better one for the same price, a little more or a little less. The one I got has tons of options and sensors, color remote, code hoping and more for 250. You gotta figure since its designed for a convertible that most of the functions will be unused in your car and thus a waste of money

Never heard of that brand, looks cheesy.
You will need a Universal bypass module with an extra key to keep in the module and it stays under the dash.

    Can't go wrong with this.

its a name brand "viper" alarm systems. They have remote starting with two way remotes, all the high tech things. for example they also have models where you can now open you car or start it from your iphone. they are pretty expensive but i guess there worth it if you have alot of accessories hooked up to your car.

Go with anything made by DEI (viper, python, clifford)

I have a python 991 as well as a viper VSS5000 (smart start)

also if you need wiring diagram, look at the stickie threads. I Gave the updated spec sheets.

allright so i got my alarm system. I ended up goin with a unit from EXCALIBUR. it has a remote start as well. Im having trouble finding my cars wireing diagram online and this is going to be my first alarm install. I understand that i also need to get a bypass modual to trick the computer into letting it think there is a key inside the ignition right? please help, im a little confused. Is there a step by step how to anywhere?

Really should have went with something from Directed. :smh:

Yes you will need a bypass module. Check the audio section for 9G's for that alarm/Remote start thread.

So what is exactly needed to get the remote start working?? Besides the extra key i guess. I read somewhere that the alarm reads the doors trunk and hood status from the ecu. That i need to buy something to connect the alarm to the ecu. Is that true?? Am talking bout that viper 5901
