    AC removal

I searched and couldn't find anything. Has anyone removed the AC from their car? Mine does not work and its just extra wait. Any ideas on how much shorter of a belt I would need? Are there any holes that would need plugged?

There is only 4 bolts to remove and compressor is out. Just remove the ac belt and you are good to go. It frees up a lot of space.

I have removed everything besides the evaporator in the dashboard.

Compressor, lines, condenser and expansion valve behind the battery

haha so funny, i'am actually in the process of reinstalling my AC :).
I need to get a new condenser but back on topic

    Remove Compressor / Lines
    Remove AC Belt
    Remove Condenser
    Remove Dryer
Remove Evaporator/Expansion Valve (Behind Glove Compartment)

From what I read its Pretty difficult to get the Evaporator out.
    Good Luck.

Mine is out as well...all the plumbing and compressor are gone. I am not 100% sure about the evap behind the glove compartment...I am willing to bet its still there. Just start ripping shit out! LOL

no I have heat...lots of it. I had no AC in LA and its always hot in LA in the summer. I took it out because it needed to be recharged and I was lazy about it. I took it out and the only real benefit is that the car revs faster....there is less mass for the engine to rotate, thus a slightly quicker response.
