    5spd worth it?

Ok so I've been searching for a 5spd and its nearly impossible to find one for the I4 but today i stumble across one on Craigslist for $250 with a new clutch and 75,xxx miles on it. So out of all the ppl who went 5spd I was wondering if you recommend it or if its well worth it I might be picking it up also would I need the mt ecu from the eclipse

5 speed is so worth it man. and you wouldnt need to change ecus as i believe the 02-03 are the ones that get check engine lights after the swap. buy the tranny right now for that price and dont worry about all that stuff. buy that, get the rest of the parts then go for it. it made my 7g like a whole new car

Dude i say its definitely worth it. I went from driving my G (auto) to my 3G eclipse (5Spd) & i love it! & as far as the ECU i would try & get the eclipse MT ecu or the Evo VIII ECU b/c im not sure if the theres a fix for the CEL issue once you go 5spd.

Go for it man, and that just teaches you not to hurry up with it considering the amount of time it took to find one, take your time when swapping it and do it right so your G will be like a new car. GL

    According to Goosey's tutorial:
    COMPATIBILITY
1999-2000: NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, NO PROBLEM
2001+ is where the story changes.
