    Camshaft Position Sensor Failure

    Engine: 2.4L 4g64

Problem: Car will not stay running after starting. Car will turn over and jump in RPM like normal, but upon returning to idle rpm engine will turn off. It will be an intentional kill, no sputtering will occur. This should happen like clockwork: start, 1000rpm, 700rpm, cut out.

    Error Code: p0340

Solution: Replace camshaft position sensor, available at auto parts store. It is located on the driver side of the engine cylinder head facing towards the back. It is held on by one 10mm bolt and the sensor plug and will slide out. You may have to remove the air intake duct to facilitate replacement.

Some newb will still start a new thread saying his car keeps stalling and autozone gave him code p0340, say he searched and couldnt find anything.

This i like short, sweet and to the point.
