Weird Problem! Car Engine on but All power stuff does not work

ok well I was driving on the street.

then...

all lights, radio, speedometer, power windows, and all steering and windows fail to work.

odd part is.. the engine is still running

I pulled over turn off the car... and waited a bit.. started the car up again it was fine.. drove off and it did it again...

anyone had this problem before.. and how do i find out what is causing this....
