    5 speeding swapping!!

    hello there everybody. i wi be starting my 5 speed sawp here soon. i recently just bought an 02 stratus tranny for my 2.4l and am just needing to get some more parts. i am lookin very foward to this, but i hope its not too difficult.. any advice from any of you other swapped drivers out there?

    take ur time, make sure u have everything tighten to spec, and have fun....thats about it, its pretty straight forward, and just review Gooseys tutorial on it, and u should be fine

    thanks alot, but i dont think the 02 stratus tranny will fit in my 00 will it?

    as long as its for the 2.4L they should be the same

    just remember if u use an eclipse flywheel u must use an eclipse clutch, if u use a stratus flywheel, u must use a stratus clutch

    Don't forget to use loctite on the flywheel bolts and pressure plate bolts.

    yeah that would work, but if ur doing that way, u will need a eclipse flywheel

    EDIT: hmm, that says eclipse and stratus...not sure which flywheel u would need, but i'd go with the eclipse one just to be safe

    yea ive heard alot about those cables being a PITA. im def goin to get one of those wrenches. and i will def keep you guys updated when my parts start rolling in and what not.. but i was thinkin.. shouldnt i get new axels too cuz in a few months imma rebuild the engine and turbo it? and is it safe to get a used flywheel?

    Exactly. at work I'm showing different clutch kits between the stratus and eclipse, even with the i4.

    being as ive never seen a flywheel before, im not sure as to this is a good, or a bad one

    Copy the [IMG] code below the pic on Photobucket so they show up like this:



    And about the condition, it not easy to say with just pics, is the shiny surface on the top pic flat or is it irregular, remember to take it to a machine shop they will tell you if its in good condition and if it still can be cut.
