Jaguar is based in Britain, doesn't matter what company buys it out.

Chrysler is co-owned by Fiat. Still based in Detroit, still considered an American company.

I see, so a jag is still a jag. No ford parts in it?

The X-Type was based on the Mondeo, which wasn't entirely a bad thing.

Ford owned both Jag and Land Rover, so those two share some engines.

Once again, not a bad thing.

Land Rover, Jag and Aston (all owned by Ford at one point) have all been able to keep their quintessential Britishness, unlike Bentley and Rolls Royce which are owned by the Germans.

The X-Type could have been packaged and sold better...they wanted too much for them new, but make nice used cars. They don't need too much high end maintenance since they had the Duratec 2.5L and 3.0L DOHC V6's. (Pretty much the engines found in the Taurus and Contour in the US)

They look so slick with some nice wheels, drop and lip kit

There is still marginal production agreements in place, but to my knowledge nothing structural anymore.

Rolls Royce and Bentley are still very much British, what makes you say they aren't?

The Xtype was the worse Jaguar made. It is a pain in the rear for wheel fitments, and is horribly unreliable. I would strongly suggest steering far clear of them, especially the early models.

IIRC Bentley only makes the Continental GT and related products (Flying Spur), those are Phaetons with a body kit. They're all wheel drive, the interior and exterior don't look right, etc.

    They've both been Germanized imo

Currently all Bentleys and Rolls Royce's are produced in England. The VW Phaeton is a cheapened Bentley. I have been in both, and I can tell you there are nothing alike other than the bare chassis.

how many cows must die for the interior of a conty gt? IIRC it took 16 for one Arnage. The wood.

IMO this is how every bentley should look:

    with 2 or 4 doors.

Whereas the new ones just blend in.

Meh he got it for 5500, with 88k. So far nothing to report other than a small coolant leak.

I like it's exterior styling and interior design.

I don't like PITA to work one. Aftermarket Parts are limited. Ex. Rear Camber

This looks like $$$, unlike the new ones that just look like you could possibly be a gay realtor that makes alot of money.
