Radiator stays on after evo 8 ecu.

First off, let me start out by saying thank you to everyone in this forum for the imformation that is given on the daily to do mods like these. Its because of this forum that I now have a 5 speed, evo 8 ecu, outlander intake manifold, and moving toward boost. So, thank you. Ok, now the problem...After the ecu swap, I noticed that when my car reached temp, the radiator fan stayed on and would not turn off. Like its running hot, but the temp gauge stays right at temp. Do I have to swap coolant temp sensors also?or do I have to change something on ecuflash? Oh, also, when you do the outlander manifold swap, I remember that you had to change a couple of wires. Now that im running the evo ecu, Do I have to change them back?

the outlander and the evo use the same throttle postition sensor so no you dont need to change the wiring there. wait your are using an outlander or evo tps right? as far as the fans im not sure ive never run across that problem. how well is your car running with the evo ecu and no turbo?

yes, im using the evo tps, and I had to change the wire config in order for the galant ecu to read it, right? so out of curiosity, Im wondering if i had to change it back to the stock config because im running the evo ecu. Other than the fan always on at temp and the car idling at 1k (because of the fan always on) its running fine.

i havn't had to change any of my TPS wires, did you buy like a boomslang harness or your making it yourself? your fan should be running if you have the AC on or something do you still have AC? it could be the rom also,

the outlander manifold i didnt do, im not sure why you had to move wires

Yes, I bought the boomslang harness and I still have ac. The a/c works fine kicks in when I turn it on and kicks out when off. Was looking at the Rom last night through ecuflash and the coolant temp is set 100 degrees c at Lo and 105 degrees c at hi. Checked my coolant level this morning and it was low but not all the way to the low level indicator on the reservoir tank. I'll top it off today and see how it acts.

ok, radiator and resevoir are full. Still remains on when car reaches temp. either its a sticking thermostat or something to do with the wiring. I checked all the pins on the boomslang harness before I installed it. I used the pinout out list of the evo ecu on RRE website and I also used the one of this site to double check the harness. I have an 02, but the list says its for a 01, is there a difference? Here's the pinout order.

87--------79 Idle position switch according to the tgc list, this was a missing pin in the slang harness, but in the RRE evo ecu pinout, they have this pin without a funcion. I don't think I added the pin either, but I'll double check. Who's right?

Should have bought your conversion harness from BHM.

Well, today I checked the coolant temp sensor by unplugging it while the fan was on, and it just stayed on. Running out of ideas...can anyone tell me if the pins are ok. I'm going to double check them tomorrow with the diagrams I have.

well, double, triple checked everything, everything checked out, but still doing it....even added the missing pin (87 to 79) on the slang harness...***help***
