    Rock auto showed at disclamer on some the alternators saying "02/1999 to 09/2000"

    So maybe they did in fact have different alternators. I would go with the pulley swap that way in case of belt snap you don't have to sit there and debate which you need.

    Does the alternator you got look OEM? Also 40 bux can't complain.

    99- 90 amps
    00- 85 amps
    01- 85 amps
    02- 85 amps
    03- 85 amps
    eclipse
    00- 90 amps (same alt as the 99G)
    00- 90 amps
    01- 90 amps
    02- 90 amps
    03- 90 amps

    all this info was from rockauto and autozone
    note altho autozone say 95amps for the galant(yr 2000) alts the output is 85amps under the details

    yea its oem all cleand up and everthing
    even had a test sticker on it back in 02, so i went to auto zone and tested it again before i put it in and it passed

    im gona try the belt first, its a bitch to pull the pully and im to lazy to remove the alt out of the ca, if the belt dont work out then i have no choice

    ok guys put the .5 shorter belt, barely got it on butt it works
    part# 365k5 (duralast)

    heat got to me today i put it in the wrong thread

    ^^^ Good info, though I think mostwill go with their own puulley before they buy another belt. Pulley = Free, Belt = cheddah

    belt cost me 12bucks and if u replace the pully u wont get 90amp u will go back to 85amp...
    plus half the time u replace the belt anyway when u replace the alt..
