Not a fan of the 9G...plus the 8G body design i feel was ahead of its time and therefore is not dated at all!!...id rather collect other models such as the 7G and make my wallet work to mod it up!!haha

If my galant was a daily driver I would consider it. sure the 9g is a beached whale, but the average 8g is well over 150k miles. I see nothing wrong with getting something newer and in better condition for everyday reliability.

When i get a good job im going to look forward to buying a ralliart and 6 speed swap it a long with coilovers and nice wheels. Seeing the 4g eclipse at mod opened up a new feeling for me there stance seemed powerful if done right. And their double exhaust defiantly gave a feeling of chilling with the evos crazy sister.

Only sonata f5m42 swapped. N/A build in motion.

If I did a 9G, it'd have to be a Ralliart. Although this is a moot point for me, I just replaced my 8G with another 8G.

Dont like the 9g... IT look too much like the Impala cop cars they use now. I actually saw an undercover silver 9g rolling around my area pulling people over..... It blends in really well, because people are expecting the undercover crown vic or the impalas old and new. They cant get past my radar though lol

Yeah, in Baltimore the other day I saw two different sets of jumpouts driving 9G's, a red one and a silver one.

Jumpouts, for those that don't know, are plainclothes narcotics officers that "jump out" as they pull up to suspected traffickers and surprise them with searches and arrests.

    Radar detectors FTW!

    ^^ This. I stay Passport Escort 8500 X50 equipped.

Round here they have SUV's. NBS Tahoes and NNBS Yukons. A few OBS exppeditions and late model durangos. Those dudes pop out in jeans and T-shirts with a dark green vest with yellow letters says "narcotics"

FYI: NNBS - New New Body Style, add up the rest.

No. I wouldn't trade my 8g GTZ for any 9g Galant. They're too heavy and ugly.

I just wish the 8g VR4 was available in the U.S. in left-hand drive. (sigh)

Really, I love the look of the 8 g and I like how you can make bumpers, get vr4 bumpers etc and just that one piece can make our cars look so different. But the 9g is very hard to make look distinct given it looks like a lotta the newer boxy cars, but i like that i have a vr4 front end silver tint and everything else normal except for rims and people look at my car like its a beamer or some car that totally tricked

Every once in awhile I think of getting a 9g there pricing is cheap. I don't see many and I doubt I'll ever see a modded one around. Would be nice to have a newer mitsu hmm

Only sonata f5m42 swapped. N/A build in motion.

it'd take a lot for me to switch from 8 to 9. as everyone else said. i'd trade my 8g in for another 8g. preferably one with a sunroof!!

I owned a 99 4 cyl. And actually searched for an 8g GTZ when I saw the new body style of the 9g in 04. I was lucky to find one still inside on the show room floor here in AZ feb. 2004. I've had her ever since. ;)

No way. Not a chance. If I did, it would only be the Ralliart version only. Otherwise, it would be an Evo X. I've always thought that the Galants became "extinct" or not worth being called a Galant after the 8G.

    I have both....

    my 1999 Galant 4cyl, 2009 Galant 4cyl

Love them both, Just got my 1999 galant back today, loaned it to my brother who didnt have a car for two years.
Interior is shot but i cleaned it as best i could and looks like it did now when I gave it to him.

the 99 will be my project car with the 2009 being my daily driver. :)

(OLD PHOTO, I DIDNT HAVE SPACE TO PARK THEM NEXT TO EACH OTHER TODAY... but its odd we did have a sunshower today also.)
