Does this happen to anyone else?

I noticed today that when I am doing about 70-80 mph my hood starts to move up and down about 1/8" just in the center of the hood though, not on the front or back. does this happen to anyone else?

Yea I agree with Atba... I've never seen my hood move even at top speed. Better check your latch mechanism for wear. You wouldn't want that thing flying open at 80 MPH.

ok if you asre sitting in the drivers seat you know how you can see the left side of the hood? right next to the drivers side fender? this is were I noticed it. Only because I have pollon on my hood (which is yellow) so I had a contrast color from the rest of the car. ( the fender is black and the hood has a tinted yellow to it) And when I was driving I noticed that the drivers side of the hood, closest to the top center of the drivers side fender, was moving about 1/8" of an inch or so. Does this make more sence to everyone? I could not see the pass side so I do not know if that side is also moving...

I guess I will have to check the bump stops or something....

yea, thats what i thought. check ur latch and ur hindges, tahts about the most u can do. remember that area would be the weakest part i guess. its not being held in by anything but the hood latch all the way in the front and the hindges in the front. you might want to check the fender too. could be that could be flimsy for some reason. but i doubt it...

cool I will check the latch and everything before I leave work... Thanks for the help!

Yeah, check the latch and I also suggest that you screw the rubber hood stops UP (and make sure they are there) Raising them should put some tension on the hood when its closed..

My hood does that, but it's damaged. Doesn't sound normal though.

This is normal. I used to wonder the same thing when I left here to Concord. There is a highway here with very high winds. I used to watch the hood flap like my CF hood would normaly. I thought it was weired too until I just keeped noticing it but only on that highway. You can see a little movement at high speeds.
