    Rear Strut plate blew out.

The rear strut plate that attaches to the body of the car rusted thru on my car and now I have a shock loose. I tried to replace the plate, but when trying to undo the bottom bolt that goes thru the shock and into the wheel hub, the bolt would not break loose and the second bolt or nut bolt that is directly threaded into the wheel hub broke loose instead. I spent 3 hours and tried multiple ways to get the bolt and the "nut bolt" to seperate so I can drop the shock and spring out and replace the plate. But no luck.

Other then hacking the bolt off anyone ever have to mess with that? If so how did you get the bolt seperated from the nut bolt?

Get some PB blaster. Spray, let soak and go for it.
