    Just Painted Drum Brake Cover

So i used a wire brush to take off all the old rust and stuff, cleaned it with a slightly damp rag, then a dry rag, then i sprayed the covers with Primer (which supposedly withstands up to 500 degrees) and then i sprayed it with paint (supposedly stands like 1000 degrees or something, i forgot but it was a high number XD) anyways my question was that the primer was a darker grey which i thought looked better than the paint, so i was wondering if i could just use primer on the top layer

note. i sprayed the layers as follows 1. Primer
    2. Primer (Again XD)
    3. Paint
    4. Primer

I don't think primer seals out moisture. You might want to top coat it with a clear coat or just get another paint that is closer to the color you want.
