As I understood it, '97-'04 Diamante brakes fit 8G's, not sure if they fit his '97 G. Those calipers look to be 1G Diamante calipers for a '94 Diamante, I don't know if 1G D's fit 7G's.

1g Ds calipers do fit 7gs.

IDK where he's from. If the was an Euro /JDM spec car the 97 is an 8g there and the knuckles may have the wider spacing for the caliper brackets like the USDM 8gs do

Ah, you're right, I forgot about the difference in US/Worldspec years. So I guess we need to know what gen the car is before anyone can give a good answer.

Any noticeable stopping power putting the Diamante caliper on the 8G I4?

I ask because with my heavy-ass wheels at times it seems like my brakes are not working because of the added weight and diameter. Hell if I slam the brakes doing 45 they don't lock up just keep turning, it's my ABS for non-ABS car, LOL.

As I've been told, 2G Diamante 2-pot calipers = "99 Galant V6 2-pot calipers. Just some info to broaden your search. I can't remember if the "00 and "01 V6's were the same, but I know the "99's were.

Have you ever had the drums adjusted? You may not have rear breaks, because there is no reason your car should have a hard tome stopping your 17" wheels.

Not on the G in the sig, I forget to mention I'm rolling 225/35/20's on the other G. I adjusted Drum's last time I did brakes which was when I got it in March of this year.

Here's both, Silver one stops on a dime.

    for a further upgrade:
if the 2g diamante/3g magna(1996-2005) fit your 8g galant, then in theory your 9g galant brakes should fit up as well, except you will need caliper, disc the whole thing.

thats what the magna/diamante guys do here... fit 380 brake setups front only.
might already be common knowledge but incase you dont know.
