Howdy from Sri Lanka

Hey all, i've been on TGC for a while, but decided to break the silence today :-) love the site, and the community! big thumbs up to all of you..

I recently acquired a black JDM Galant 2005 (EA), 4G63 2ltr.. I've had 2 mitsu lancers before (both diesel 2 ltr), and my whole family loves mitsus.. Didn't have the funds to buy a brand new car, and taxes here (Sri Lanka) on new cars are ridiculous. But this Galant had only 73k kms on it, and was maintained in top notch condition.

Here in my neck of the woods, folks don't tend to do much on their automobiles; they'd rather take it to the mechanic. I'd like to think of myself as more of a do-it-yourself kinda guy (on a tight budget though). TGC is simply the perfect community for me! Thanks all for the chance to get to know the Galant better!

PS: btw, one true advantage of living in Sri Lanka is that you get the JDM stuff at any good auto parts store :-)
