Will that IM fit our stock 8G 4-cyl heads? Looks badass, the motor is so clean, looks like you could drop it in your car as it instead of swapping the head!

naw unfortunately the manifold wont fit its got the same flange and the evo intake manifold but the exhaust is the same. yah that one was clean i got it for 200 with the intake and exhaust manifold.

Very cool.
I know Hyundai and Mitsu share certain engines, but these Hyundai G4JS engines, we're they developed with the 8G's 4G64 at the same time and shared plans for something? Just curious why these to motors are interchangeable like this.
/noob thoughts
to swap it in the 8G, you will need to swap the 4G64 engine mount bracket onto the G4JS and of course use the Evo 8 cam relucator wheel and a few misc parts.

yeah porbably would have to swap injectors over also. But what does a stock g4js make power wise?
according to some stuff online
Torque: 147 ft-lbs. @ 3000 rpm
Horsepower: 138 hp @ 5500 rpm

I don't know why Hyundai engines of that era are usually more underpowered when there cylinder heads (well, potentially) and intake manifolds are higher flowing than Mitsubishi equivilents, I'm thinking they have absudly poor flowing exhaust systems from heavy end emissions equipment and/or extremely conservitive OE engine tuning
for example
6g72 (3 liter)
195 hp @5500 rpm& 205 lb/ft @4000 rpm
vs
G6CT (3 liter, exact same bore and stroke)
189 hp @6000 rpm& 191 lb/ft @4000 rpm
6g74
205 hp @5000 rpm& 231 lb/ft @4000 rpm
vs
G4HC
200 hp @5500 rpm& 214 lb/ft @4800 rpm
hopefully this doesn't make matters worse for performance engine building, but verification of why there is this lack of power exists would be helpful for all of us
