Rattle from rear speakers / deck

    Hello,

I'm a former member here, but cannot remember the e-mail address I registered with so I had to create a new account. I was "styles430" and had a 2001 Galant GTZ. Anyways..

Earlier this week my girlfriend bought a new (to her) 2008 Mitsubishi Galant. It has the Rockford Fosgate sound system, however there's an annoying rattle that comes from the rear "deck" when it's turned up. Any clue what this could be? It's not the trunk, it sounds like either the "deck" itself or the plastic speaker covers. I'm not sure how to stop this, but any clues would be helpful.

    Thanks in advance!

Could be the speakers themselves, they could be blown and make that nasty rattling sound, my Diamante did the same thing. Other than that something back there under the deck could be loose. Hope this helps!

there is a tension bar thing that goes across the trunk to hold it up when I upgraded my 6*9s it rattled like crazy
I wrapped a tissue around it then that in electrical tape ...solved
