yep its a crank scraper. you don't need one but it does help by seperating the oil cloud out of the oil, so you don't get foaming of the oil, and oil pump failure because of airation in the oil.

That's more of a windage tray than a crankscraper. Not to split hairs.

Roman, does that epic lengthy wastegate dump vibrate like crazy at certain rpms?
I could see the end of that pipe vibrating an inch in either direction somewhere in the 3k rpm range.
I had to have my welder tie mine to the downpipe because the vibration kept breaking the manifold to wastegate pipe.
I remember i would look under the car while my buddy revved it and in the sections of the powerband where the balance shafts would have corrected.... the pipe looked like jello because it vibrated so fast.

    SICK build.

Nice!! Took you long enough to post them up.

Dont laugh at me wearing my dust mask while installing romans head studs and doing the timing belt. We just finished spraying some copper spray and that shit is TERRIBLE to breath in, I wasnt taking any chances.

A crank scraper is machined to trace the crank very closely in order to diffuse the oil cloud and reduce drag on the crankshaft. As you can see ig goes from side to side and fits very tightly over the crank.

They both have the same purpose. However a crank scraper is more of a no-compromise performance part.

Great. This is great for hi-rev engines. This to avoid oil foam and have a better clean flow of oil thru out the crank.
