For you guys that had JUST a muffler installed...

I am going to try and get this Remus muffler installed this weekend...

I wanted to know where you made the cut on your stock exhaust... I see that the stock muffler bolts up to the cat back piping behind the rear crossmember... did you cut before or after that flange...?

I'll let you guys know how it goes... I haven't welded in some time, so this should be fun... my buddy has a madrel bend machine so i have that outta the way... how long a piece of pipe will i need...?

The guys that did my most recent install cut my muffler pipe just before where it would meet the OEM muffler. The first one I had installed though was not offset and like you required extra work done. He cut it right past the hangers (side closest to the back of the car farthest from the crossmember) so that he could stick a custom bent piece of pipe to connect the muffler.

10" of extra pipe or so should be enough. My muffler was put on like RalliFan's they just cut out the stock muffler (After the flange), added pipe and welded in the new muffler.

And damn your buddy spent some dough on the mandrel bend machine as far as i know they ain't cheap. Can i borrow it?

    Tiller, anytime.

Also i'd suggest getting it rebuilt from the axle-back reason being if you ever wanted to you could swap the axle-back piping and stock muffler back on. Thats what i wish i did....oh well.

Can you try to swing the lending of the mandrel bend machine , i'll give you $20

Hey Tiller, I had my muffler installed like the other guys. Just cut and add about ten inches of extra pipe.

Hey pal you live close enough to me, I'll give you $25 to borrow the Mandrel machine.

my exhaust pipe was cut right before the OEM muffler....and my muffler was installed so it is facing out at about a 30 degree angle...ive had many complements on it like that and personally think it looks much better than straight

Thank goodness my Father knows how to weld. He helped me put my muffler on. Here is how we installed it - Click here.

axle back is a good way to go. if you plan to upgrade the rest of the pipe you don't have to tear everything up. how much would an axle back cost mandrel bent there, might just be worth the trip for me and chip to go up there one day
