We know this, especially in your case, but in mine that woman sucks at driving sometimes, she curbed the wheels yesterday at a drive-thru, luckily it was just tire and not rim lol.

The OP said they were stronger. For the average person who doesn't want to go through the hassle of repairing/replacing wheels, stock alloys or quality aftermarket alloys are the hottest ticket in town.

I would say the steel wheels dont turn oval like the alloy do as easily. Thats the problem I keep having. My car is starting to rust up around the wheel wells, the clear coat has cancer. And the car has 250,000 miles on it. So at this point thinking of just going back to steel with out hub caps. That way there will be more rubber there to take the blow of these good OLD detroit roads.
You are correct on the rubber and inexpensive part.
So you're saying this is kind of a move to just extend the life of the car while reducing your investment? If that's the case, I can't fault your logic, seems like a good idea to me.
They should soften the ride of that 250k mileage beast.
