    VW Jetta

    My new daily:
Think these are a lot more popular in the U.S. than they are here, but I love it!

I wasn't a fan of them at first but they grew on me. My parents are seriously thinking about leasing one.

I personally like the older Jettas but congrats. Any plans for it?

No real plans for it. There is a little body styling such as a lip type thing that VW do, so may well add that sort of thing. But the 8G is staying and of course is still the one for me to "play" with!

Nice pickup. TDI, 5 cylinder, some Euro only engine?

My co-worker had one as a rental, he said it rides nice but for big guys like myself, the seats are too narrow. He had his the same time I had the Impala rental, I told him I'd gladly switch. Nice pickup bro!

Lol, I don't keep up with VW's much, I find it difficult to keep track of their different but similar models.

I still thought this was our newest model. Thanks for the reality check man!

    TDI 4 Cylinder 2.0 litre.
    Thanks for the comments guys.
Greg, I find the car very comfortable and yes the seats do have quite large bolsters on them. I guess I'm fairly small myself but a fellow at work who is reasonably "ample" found it comfy too.
One thing that does surprise me is how much leg room there is in the back. Seems very well laid out and still has loads of space in the boot or trunk.
It was pics of the car in the States that first caught my eye - we didn't get it here in the UK until a few months ago It wasat first sight!! Bit like my Galant really.....

To be honest, the guy that told me this is 6'5" (1.9558 m) and 300+ lbs (136 kg), I'm only 5'10" and still under 300 lbs (but I'm getting dangerously close lol). But he said the legroom was plentiful, which coming from him means something!

I like the GLI as well. A funny story, the only GLI I ever drove was also the first manual car I ever attempted to drive, I was working at Sears and I tried to move it into the shop. I thought I was in reverse but I was in first (those gears are next to each other in those cars) so I gave it a little gas and eased off the clutch looking behind me. The VR6 motor was a little more peppy than I thought it would be, so when I surged forward, I smacked the curb with the oil pan and put a big crack in it. It set the shop back $1300 dollars and a free rental for the owner.

He probably would find it a little small to be fair, big strong fella by the sound of it.
Thanks for all the pics guys, lovin it!
Like that Mk 4 too, not many of them over here, but for some odd reason they decided to call them the Bora in UK and think Europe mailand also.
For the Mk 5 they went back to Jetta name. That model had a TDI 170hp in the line up. Unfortunately dropped with the Mk 6.
