Otherwise I think I'd still prefer a 4g64. My dash has to come out anyways so I can work on the heater housing, so I'll have the harness exposed. I found a 4g64 8g salvage car here in Vegas for $400 that was in a rear end collision. So I can swap literally everything over. The 4g64 just seems better all around. And for anyone that'll say I should just scrap it and buy a 4 cylinder 8g, I agree with you. I understand that's a better option, and easier one, but it's a sentimental thing for me. I refuse to let this car die.
Well if you get the salvage car as a whole you can swap the front clips. Other than that you will be spending more than you bargained for. And I hope your welding is proficient. Good luck!

I got the heads off first thing this morning. When I figure out how to post pictures, I will. I have to wait until after work to check warpage and everything. I'm not the best welder but a friend of mine is awesome with it, so he'll help me. All that needs to be welded should be some exhaust hangers and relocating an engine mount, correct?

Don't forget the front subframe is totally different.

I figured the subframe is different, but it still mounts in the same spots, correct? If I remember correctly, it's a 6 bolt sub frame

This picture is from about 3 years ago when I pulled everything out before. I pulled the engine and trans with the subframe all together. I figured I could do this and just swap everything with the harness between the two cars.

Some pictures from today. The heads are definitely horribly warped, as you can see in that last picture. Measured .012" warpage. I believe the max spec is .008". Now it's decision time.
