Shift Indicator?

I'm curious, on the 04 GTS, i know there's a shift indicator in the dash cluster, but is there supposed to be a light down by the shifter itself? More often then not I find myself looking down at the shifter as i'm shifting, but at night it would be hella easier with a shift light at the shifter. Is there supposed to be a light and mine just simply burnt out, or is there no light there? and IF there is, how would I go about replacing it without breaking something. Just a curious question.

For a quick answer, I say refer to your owners manual. Then someone with more experience with a 9g will clarify your question.

Nope. No lights on the shifter base. That was one of the complaints by one car magazine editor when they were doing a review on the galant.
