    HID fogs installation...help

How do you put HIDs in the fogs? I have 3000k fogs I tried to do it and nothing happened. They're brand new lights and ballasts. Do I need a relay to install them? I have one just incase I need it. I'm just waiting for a nice day and some time to do it.

Same way you would do it on the headlights. And yea use the relay. Make sure your (+) & (-) are correct.

Oh ok so I DO need the relay...when I tried before I didn't have a relay so that's why I bought one. So I should be good with the relay?

Like was said before, check your +/- and make sure they are right. The lights should turn on without a relay if it is wired up correctly.

What I think Bloody Arro is trying to say is reverse your polarity. The cord that plugs into your ballast, if it doesn't ignite when plugged in, flip that cord around and see if it works

Right I understand that and did that and nothing happened. Again that's why I got the relay and I will try it with that soon

Hmmm... that's weird. Keep trying. The bulbs will ignite without the relay if hooked up properly. Keep messing around with it. Im sure you will figure it out eventually. If not by the weekend, let's meet up so I can help.

I think you blew a fuse. Put a 20a or 30a in its place. Stock 880's are 27.5w and HID is at least 35w. This is why its best to use a relay! (For those who plug n play) Stock fuses and wiring are just rated too weak and wires too thin, they will fray and can cause damage to your cars wiring.

For longer ballast and bulb life use relays with heavy gauge wiring with all HID installs especially those higher than 35w, like DDM 55w.

Ever wonder why there's monkeys who roll with one HID out? No relay+bad ground from stock wiring=shorter lifespan and/or HID flicker. I have 2sets of McCulloch HID kits that are 6yrs old that still work like a charm, and I think using relays with proper awg wire and good grounds has a bit to do with it.

Sorry if im just rambling on, but I explain this over and over, newb after newb, forum after forum.

Ok thanks for rambling it helps but I didn't blow a fuse because the stock (or in his case luminics yellow bulb) still worked after I put it back in. I might have raised the amps but I would have to l

make sure ur high beams are off (low beams must be on)... the fogs will not work at the same time as the high beams because of the way the lights are wired from factory. the fogs also will not work unless you have your low beams on.

Yes I understand and knew that maybe its the ballasts since I tested the bulbs in my existing hid ballasts for heads and they worked but did anyone else need a relay for fogs?

The Bulb the G comes with is a 893, same base as 880, just at rated 37.5W not 27.5W.

Sometimes the pins on the HID harness get bent going in so check to make sure they have good contact.

so if your fog bulbs work with the low beam ballast, and your low beam bulbs work with the low beam ballast. do your low beam bulbs work with the fog ballast? if you test that you can see if the new ballast is broken.
