JDm 3rd gen tail light bulbs

So I have a question. I believe the 3rd gen tails use an 1157 bulb just like the stock USDM. Now what is the best way to go about using an led bulb for that. I was thinking maybe a switch back or one of those spider things that open up when you put it in

The JDM taillights do not use 1157s. They use 7443, and 7440 bulbs. And all you need to do to use LEDs in them is buy the correct bulbs. Just be sure if you do get LEDs that have 360* light coverage, most times when folks use LEDs they have horrible light output.

See that's the thing, I saw that somewhere else before, but those are wedge bulbs, i have them and the 3rd gen lights use 1156/1157 bulbs

If you look closely at the couple bulbs that are out, you can see that. They're all screw ins

No, the JDMs do not use 1156/1157. If that is what yours have they have had USDM harnesses altered. That is why the JDM taillights have to be modified to to 1156/1157 bulbs. I'm not wong, I have had multiple sets of jdm tails, and all shipped with jdm harnesses.

My advice to you is drive to a local tgc member around you and have them help you with the tails since you seem so confused and little knowledge on wiring/soldering

Go to your local radioshack. They have a starter soldering kit for like 7 bucks. You can also youtube search how to solder and learn from there.

Its honestly not hard. Just be patient with it. Just like you need patience when your learning something new.

Of course I agree. I only have one harness so I'm wondering if I can modify the stock one to comply

Ok good. How exactly and also can someone tell me hat bulbs go where on the jdm? The guy took them out of they're sockets and they're identical in size and shape. I have one amber one so I know that goes on the bottom as a turn signal

Right duh... lol I gotta think sometimes. I know the reverse is 1156 so that's good and i need to check the other ones. I have a question, I have spare 1157 leds. Can I use that for the 1156 Reverse lights?
