Took your advise and did a flush myself. Cost me $280 + tax at the dealership. Seems much better after the flush.

^^^Best of luck to you man.

Mine is doing just fine...Ironically my friends (2 other G's both 2000's) one at 100k (V6) the other at about 90k (I4) did drain and re-fills and both are now having tranny issues. One in limp mode the other just got done with a rebuild.

I know the place I took my 240 to when I had it who also rebuilt the trans in my G, the owner sais he recommends dropping the man so you can change the filter. He said with a flush, that's over looked. That's the method he used with my 240 plus a lsd additive. Plan to let them do it for the G soon since its been almost a year since they've rebuilt it.

Neither of mine had the spin-on filter. Wish it did!

You guys paid that much for a tranny flush? My mechanic said he'd charge me 80-90 for it

He is wrong then. A powerflush machine coupled with replacing the filter would cost at least $200-300.

Look closely at my receipt. And you will see why its at least $200.

Proper fluids alone is 80-90. Plus the 30 on the detergent to clean and flush out deposits then add the techs hour pay, and you've got an easy $200. And I really couldn't be happier with smooth she shifts and feels.

^ You should have flushed at least twice by this mileage. I would wait for others to chime in on this if you haven't kept up with the recommended intervals.

So when do you recommend a flush? Every 100k?

First thing you should have done before any mods was, T-Belt/Water Pump followed by Tranny flush and tune up. I doubt any of that (besides tune up) has been done to that car by any previous owner(s).
Not shitting on you but any car in General. Most people dont realize that just because the car runs fine there's no need for such work to be done, if a T-Belt snaps the car goes from running beautiful to not at all in a second. "Preventative Maintenance" two beautiful words that go a very long way.
