    Transmission oil

    Hi,
I want to chagne my transmission oil. But here in my country there are some people, who changed their oil and then they have damaged their tranny. So wich oil is the best opinion to replace the original oil?

Most folks say you should go to the Mitsbushi dealer and get OEM fluid. I have been using Mercon II for the past several years as the closest Mits dealer to me is 5 hours away.

As long you are using the proper weigh gear oil you are fine, it isn't as critical with a manual trans as it is with an automatic.

I completely missed he had a manual. I use synthetic in my 5 speed because here in Montana that regular gear oil gets awfuly thick in the cold of the winter months. Chcek you owner's manual for the correct weight. I think it is suppose to use 70/75 wt and not the typical 80/90 wt gear oil.
