my manifold cracked with a stock internals motor and mounts. its such a shitty design. you should check out the bracket that the eclipses have. they brace the tb with the connection to the head. i dont know why the galant didnt come with it.

Would a crack bring about a noticeable difference in performance, noise, etc? I never had a problem with my 4G64 manifold, so if the car doesn't noticeably act different with the cracked manifold, I coulda had one and never knew.

^^Hmm, I can't answer accurately then, I had no problems with mine. I thought I read that the 8Gb's had a reinforced IM, I could be wrong though.

ive had a galant and a eclipse manifold crack, of course due to bad motor mounts. First time i only replaced front and back mounts. Istill need to replace all four before this one goes bad.

Mine cracked due to a worn rear roll stopper plus the idiot mechanic got the balance shaft timing off causing shit loads of vibration.

My roommate's bone stock 8g had an IM crack.

No significant warning, noticed vibration/shuddering upon lifting off the gas about 1/2 mile before the car stopped running, bam cracked IM.

Come to think of it both my 4g64 manifolds went shortly after I went 5speed

Not that this has anything to do with the intake manifold cracking. But a popular mod for the 4g63 engines is to remove the balance shaft all together. GSX runs fine xD
