    The 74TB fits in the stock IM just fine. You just need the 74 gasket when swapping along with the IAC pigtail.

    So I got my hands on a 74 TB but its the one with the traction control which is different than the ones u guys showed me.

    Will it work or should I get an earlier model??

    I have the correct tb, but idk if its the 75 or 74... Leaning more towards the 75 though

    wasn't there a clearance issue with the throttle plate, mounting it to a 54mm 4g64 hole, and cutting out that material making it weak, i thought the biggest you can go was 60mm, and still having to cut

    I wonder who ported that throttle body for M-rod? ;) Perhaps with the installation of mil spec shaft seals and a coolant bypass job as well?

    The 4g64 manifold is bored for the 4g64 throttle body, if you want to make good use of the 60mm throttle body you can port the manifold just a tiny bit but seeing it's sheet metal nature there is no way to actually get the bore out there big enough to make full use of it.

    The 74 throttle body bolts to the 64 manifold but the bore is offset that of the 72 and it is a 70mm mouth so there really is no point in using it on the sheet metal manifold.

    Evo throttle bodies bolt up, the IAC's are the same but the TPS needs rewiring (the pigtails are the same though minus the pinout).

    No need to port the TB. unless you port the intake mani and the head. You will see no gain in nothing. the only thing you will see is bottle neck with stock intake mani and head. Even with the stock 74 tb upgrade you need big time tuning on the injectors.

    You always bark about tuning, they're important yes but not for the reasons you always cite. The factory MAF and injector curves work if you use... guess what? Stock equipment. The injectors never need adjustment if they're working correctly and are clean, the MAF shouldn't either. That said the only "tuning" adjustments anyone needs to make on anything short of FI are to timing, fueling and accel enrichment tables.

    Besides, the Fed Spec tunes whether for a galant or 3g 4 cylinder or 6 are about the farthest you can go with a street tune. Again talking about an NA build with stock injectors or MAF, if you do an engine swap and use say 6g74 injectors you need to compensate for them but you still use a factory curve. If you want to do better then you've gotta go to the dyno.

    If anyone ever wants the V6 Fed Spec timing and fueling maps feel free to PM me, don't waste your money buying a "basemap" from someone, a tactrix cable and a hook up is all you need for the extra 10whp or so. Same goes for engine swaps, I have 74 and 75 basemaps for anyone who wants them also.

    do you know where there is a wire diagram or a how to for the TPS floating around?, i'm using a 4g64 galant one, is there a difference? , i found something on club3g about it, but it doesn't explain if they are different, what ill do is run evoscan and see if the voltages should be what they need to be

    also on a side note for the evo TB the throttle cable is on the other side,

    It's an old thread so the pics don't load but it's simple enough. You can clock the small throttle housings (64, 72, evo) since the bore is centered, might look kind of funny to some but it'll get the cable in there. This is not the case on the 74 throttle body since the bore is offset but with the 60mm 72 throttle body available as plug and play the only real reason to upgrade to an Evo housing would be to get something oversized to the tune of 70 or 75mm. Needless to say that would be an all out NA V6 thing pretty exclusively unless you want to spend the money on it, if you're boosted anything over the 65 isn't really necessary and if it is on your car you don't need me to tell you why.

    For those who take the 75 beyond bolt ons the 75mm Evo throttle bodies are actually a very solid upgrade because that engine will make the most of it and you get to keep the IAC and factory ECU, particularly now that there is a good big maps ROM.


    Edit: A helpful hint for finding things on club3g, the search engines are pretty worthless since there is so much clutter. Go to google and type in "club3g" then whatever you're looking for and you'll get what you need, the relevant threads are what show up there since they've got higher hit counts that google pays attention to while the forum engines don't.
