    New 7th Gen Sedan

    Hello TGC.

I just signed up to hopefully get advice and help. I just got my 1996 galant a couple days ago here in Philippines. When I got it they said it was a Galant VR and on the registration it says it is a 2.0 L. I have been searching for the engine code but cannot find it. Can someone tell me more about this motor and lead me into the right direction to where the code is located.

It also has a weird looking exhaust. The guy is going to give me the stock exhaust back but this is what it came with..

For some reason my gauges will not light up and the speedometer and tripometer and the odometer stopped working.

Any help will be really appreciated.

    Thanks guys!

    6 Cylinder right? 6A12

Webhosting for less than $3 a month? put "pinoyesv6" as a promo code.

Yeah it is a v6. I was thinking it is a 6a12. Would be cool if it was the 6a12tt...
Do you know where to find the engine code?

i dont see any turbos....so its probably a 6a12....engine code should be on the plate on teh firewall

Still cannot find a service manual :(

I found one for the 6a12 but not for a 7th gen galant...

Anyone know if it would be ok to take that metal net thing on the exhaust.. I think it makes it look funny.. I am just waiting on the stock exhaust to come back.

Also have any ideas on why my gauges are not working??

Scottie...it looks like the metal thing is a cheap ass form of an exhaust hanger, until you get a new exhaust i'd say leave it. Your going to need to get a new guage cluster, it looks like he installed indiglo guages...if not put in properly they will make the needles stop working. He damaged something on the install so a new cluster is in order. Got any pics of the rest of the car?

speedo, trip and odometer stopped reading.....sounds like a speed sensor issue

and it might be a VR-M which came as a V6 6a12 non turbo

Thank you guys for the welcome..

Yes the muffler to my friend and I looks like it came off a small bike. I was thinking that heat shield is to guard someone leg if it touches (when it is on a bike of coarse)

Here is the serial number for my car.. can someone tell me more about my car with this ?

Looks Like i have my hands full with all these cut wires

speaker wire? compartment between driver and passenger seat

    what is this?

and finally a few bad pics of my car. i will try to get better ones next time

    broken fog lights
