2.4L or 3.8L, either way its going be torque happy. The 3.8 is done for drag racing.

Well, after talking to a buddy of mine we decided that the 4banger turbo is the way to go. Now i just dont know what direction i should go in...

***2.4 from the 8g/3g and DOHC and turbo
    ***4g63t from an Evo8
    ***4g63t from 2g Eclipse/VR4 galant

I just dont know which is better to build into a reliable street car. Im looking for a good 250-300 hp. My buddy says that since it will be built from the ground up and everything replaced that the 8g/3g 2.4 build would be the best one. What do you guys think?

Hmm well you can get your hands on a ton of DSM parts for dirt cheap if you go with a 6 or a 7 bolt 4g63. What is the easiest to fit in?

  6. #46
From what i gather the 2.4 fits in there well... Im still trying to gather all of the info... just soo much going on.

I thought I read that 4G64 bottom ends are cheaper to source, and with the bump in displacement, if you turbo it with a DOHC head, it should be nice and torquey. That's what I'd do if I had a 4-cyl to build. One of the guys with an actual built motor can probably tell you the pros and cons with each of your options better than I can though.

Get the G4JS from Hyundai/Kia: It's 2.4L, it has a DOHC head already, it's cheaper to get as you have to spent money on getting the 4G64 AND DOHC head. The only major mod to get the G4JS in the mirage is swapping the driver side engine mount and engine mount bracket.

So an insane person asked me since i have the Dolphin front and wasnt using it why i just didnt mod it to fit the RAGE.... Crazy right!? but now its got me thinking if there is a slight chance that it would be close enough to look decent. Any takes on this? Id rather sell it and buy a motor or some Evo5 parts... but the seed has been planted....

My guess is that the bumper will be to wide and will look strange.

Well, after some time of letting people jerk me around on selling of the car I plan on going ahead and keeping the car and beginning to mod it. Have some plans for the exhaust, but still waiting for a few more things...

And let me just get every ones take on this......

Its just an idea... toying something that was suggested... What do you guys think?

If you got fiberglass skills I say go for it, I think it'll look dope if done right!

So I think i might attempt some body work on the trunk and see if i can get it to latch on its own and get rid of the damned tie down strap. Ill take some before and after shots of it... if i get to it tomorrow... might be too drunk to mess with it. lol

And is Greg the only person that has input on the bumper? I think it could look really nice if done correctly, but wanted to get y'alls take on it. I figured i could use it since nobody was interested in buying it.
