    what would it take...

So I'm selling my Rage and looking at another 8g. Found two possible candidates ... one needs a crank position sensor and one jumped time. What would it take to fix either one. What issues would there be? And there is another that needs a starter but is higher in price

I'd go for the one with the faulty crank sensor, as long as you replace it, assuming it starts and runs relatively good. It is the better choice over the one that jumped time. Who knows what could be involved in fixing that one.

The third one, can you get it started at all? If not, have you tried literally hammering the starter to see if it starts and runs well? That would likely be the best choice because a lot of people simply bail on a car that just needs a starter.

Is changing a crank sensor hard to do?

I believe you can take it off without redoing the timing but while changing it might as well do the timing

Nope cause you have to pull the sprocket off to take the trigger plate off to get the sensor out without bending it

I never had a problem all I did was turn it unscrew and it came off no messing with the timing

Well, the buyer fell through. So till I sell the rage I'm not getting an 8g.

Fyi you can turn the crank till the sensor fits threw the crank trigger plate. You don't have to remove the belt but you have to remove the lower cover and balancer.

I just miss having an 8g. And there is nothing on the market for the rage, so everything has to be custom. Which is gonna be well out of my price rangetto mod the car.
