    Pump brakes to start car?

a couple of months ago i had a code show up "crankshaft position sensor" it would start up in the morning but as soon as i turn off the car it took 3-4 hours for it to start it again.. no matter how many times i turned the ignition on i would wait 3-5 hours.....
So i replace the crankshaft position sensor and did my timing, water pump, at the same time... right after it turn on like a champ but recently i have trouble starting the car and by pumping the brakes helps it start the enigine.

why is that? anyone have the same problem...

Weird, my parent's 8G does the same thing. Or if I wiggle the negative battery terminal it starts right up. One day it cut off and on while my dad was driving...

Maybe something in the steering column? like a safety feature or making sure key is car is in park and foots on the brake? Strange though. Look at a wiring diagram and see what your brakes hook to.
