    actually he's alive

Yesterday, while many of his friends were autocrossing near Dallas, Texas, they were thinking about Jeremy Foley. Why? Because he'd be running up Pikes Peak in a 560-plus-horsepower (at the wheels) Mitsubishi Evolution by Evolution Dynamics. That's Most of our idea of a very good day. But sometimes, things go a bit wrong.

That's what happened for Jeremy and his co-driver Yuri Kouznetsov, unfortunately: things went a bit, well, airborne wrong. Off the side of the mountain wrong. Giant cartwheels shedding body panels wrong.

The good news is, however, that both Foley and Kouznetsov are OK. As Foley posted to his Facebook feed, "I thought I posted already, but Yuri and I are ok. A little beaten up but nothing major. Thank you so much to everyone for the kindness and support! What a wonderful feeling to feel so loved!"

Admittedly, the crash is pretty spectacular--and most of all we're glad they're both OK--but we'd rather have seen them make it to the top of the hill. Judging by their pace in qualifying, it would have been a solid time.

*Update: According to a post on Evolutionm.net, neither Foley nor his co-driver, Yuri, broke any bones in the dust up. Foley exited the crashed vehicle under his own power and Yuri injured his shoulder in what may be a dislocation.

Wow that's crazy!!! +1 for the cage builder, lots of business coming their way for keeping them relatively safe in that wreck!

... too soon? I'm kidding of course. Glad they're both OK. I was really irritated hearing the guys cheering during the video. What assholes.

wow, just from the last video it looked like he locked up the brakes abit, and from the tumble down the hill it also looked like the brakes lock up again and understeer the car

and man he had some serious brakes on that car just from looking at his build page
