    Overdrive slippage - 94 Galant

My overdrive on my 94 (bought cheap) doesn't work - when I switch it on it slips. Obviously a rebuild would help, but short of that, any repair possible? I have a friend who can rebuild transmissions, but I can't saddle him with a full rebuild (and stay a friend). He's willing to do some work, though.

Is the 94 automatic similar to other models (i.e. for getting parts).

    Thanks a million.

My bet is that the end clutches burnt up. Tried replacing mine on my old 95 but they went again. The key with these cars and auto is to only use overdrive at 45 and up, so try the end clothes matched with not using the OD during slow or city driving and it could work
