Hiding your AUX and/or Ipod cord for your raido

Sick if the tangled wires around my shifter i decided to clean it up alittle and hide the wire, it was very very simple and took my about 20 mins and the end result was very clean cut. all you need is:a 3ft usb extender from best buy, radio shack or walmart it doesnt matter, a soldering pen or drill with a big enough bit, philips head screw driver, and a flat head screw driver.
1- Remove the center console piece such the radio trim, shifter trim and cigarette lighter trim. they all pop out with no screws holding them in.

as you see the radio trim pops out with a little muscle.

2- Remove the cup holder by loosening the two philips head screws under the arm rest

3- With the arm rest/cup holder out, get the soldering pen hot to melt the plastic. i made a rough hole but the black rubber mat hides the hole well. or you can use a drill with a large enough bit for the usb port. like in the picture above. now cut a spot in the black mat to get the cord through

4- Run the cords under the center console with the usb extender plugged into the radio. (you will need the extender for the usb port, i tried with the regular 3 foot iPod cable its just a twat hair short. and the AUX cord should be at least 5ft or more)

5-MAKE SURE IT WORKS!!!! before you button everything up make sure the iPod or what ever plays!

    6-Button it up! :]

    This was my first sorta-Tutorial

    End Results may vary :p

I just did this with my screen, except the wires come from the back of the unit, so they're completely hidden. Furious GTZ did that too, way back in the day. Still have to slean my up a bit so the rubber sits flat, but I love having the USB and iPod cable there.

    I guess...

When I was in the market for a new head unit I made damn sure the USb/iPod was located on the back, I don't like the idea of shoving a flash drive in the radio face, it sticks out and if its hit it can damage both the drive and deck.
