    transmission

Have an 06 with a 4 cyl. From a full stop and under normal to heavy acceleration car shifts to 2nd at about 10 mph, which really makes for slow acceleration. Any advice?

No cel light? Is the car in limp mode? Would check trans fluid level. Check it with the engine running and trans in neutral.
Low fluid can put it in limp mode. Usually if there's internal damage the trans usual slips/rpm flare when shifting gears.

Check fluid level and color. Have you been keeping up with proper transmission service intervals?

Yea tranny fluid is serviced and fairly red, not burnt. The transmision doesn't slip just shifts way early
