New boy from way down in New Zealand

Hey guys, thought I'd better put a post up. I'm based in South Canterbury, in the chillyish South Island of New Zealand. Bought myself a 2001 Galant 2.4 Viento a few months ago, so I thought I might have to sign up on TGC and see what everyones doing to them. Cars in pretty good condition, some minor paint chips and so forth. Biggest problem is shes burining oil like a mad thing, so a piston ring replace is just around the corner (possibly an excuse for a v6 engine swap?). Anyway I'll get some pictures up in the next few days. Cheers guys!

Welcome. Don't do a V6 swap, too much involved. If you want a V6 sell the I4 and buy a V6.

    Welcome Bro...

2 things about the 2.4 GDI, don't bother repairing it and get rid of the engine as soon as possible, the fuel here in NZ is not good enough for them, at a minimum you need to run it on 98.
I would either sell it, or do an evo engine swap.... However if you want to go V6, grab a 6A13 from a Galant VR, or the 6A13TT from the VR-4... They should just slot straight in to your engine bay...
