I have an oil leak on the UPPER oil pan on my 3.0 Galant, anyone know what an equivilant for Mitsu MD970389 sealent is?

For my 2.4 I switched to an oil pan gasket, instead of the seals when I first changed my oil pan. Haven't looked back since then. I believe it should be the same for the 3.0L -

That's the one I use - Felpro and it's a direct fit. Much easier than working with the messy "gasket maker"

I use Permatex Ultra Copper on all my oil pans, even exhaust joints and oil returns and I've never had a leak.

Sorry, I messed up, the 2.4 doesn't even have an upper oil pan, it looks like. Felpro makes a kit for the upper oil pan for the 3.0L -

But I don't think it's a gasket, it looks like it's RTV Sealant. Would be a better idea to go with something that has been tried and tested I guess like what Silvertune has mentioned.

I use ultra grey gasket maker, don't bother with a pre-formed gasket as it will likely leak right away.
