Well some more goodies got delivered today
    Vibrant 17950 3"in/out 5" body 18" long

And got me a second "Diamond Mitsubishi" valve cover

And finally I just got back from buying these bad boys off craigslist.

2g GSX 2-piston calipers, rotors, and practically new pads for 20 bucks

    Today was a good day.

    ;D

Grabbed me some spare GS trunk emblems.

Neither of my galants had the "GALANT" ones on them so now I have a set, too bad the A's corner is chipped off.
    But spares be spares.

So I test fit the GSX calipers on my parts car with the stock 15x6 +46 alloys and it clears the rim by about 2mm or so all around.
    Rotates without any problems.

    Straight on view

    Bottom clearance

    Top clearance

And finally a pic from the back

I may do what mko suggested and upgrade to some slotted 4-lug galant vr4 rotors because there is about 1/8th inch pad that is not being used.

It's not that big of a deal to me, I also don't want to buy new 4-lug rotors if I plan to do the 5-lug swap anytime soon, so it's a bit of a dilemma.
I'm leaning towards buying the vr4 rotors though
But we'll see what happens after I get something else i have been working on finished and I'll go from there.

The GSX eclipse came with 17s that cleared very well. As long as it clears even by millimeters its fine

I love the 2-piece gsx wheels, however I do not like the 3g "gsx" style ones the dip in the spokes.
I'm super happy that it cleared my stock wheels! I knew it would be close but I thought I was going to have to get new wheels sooner than expected. lol

Yes this was just a clearance test to see if I could use them with my stock 15" wheels.
When I actually install them i'll get some before/after pics.

Well something happened to my car yesterday....

I was driving and the check engine light came on, which it never has before, but it didnt drive any different it didnt sound any different so i dunno why it came on.
Then last night I go to leave my friends house and it starts up fine then dies after a few seconds, so i started it again and gave it some gas had it at about 2k rpm and it just died while i was giving it gas.
Did it again and pumped the pedal a lot same shit.

So i stayed at my friends house and this morning we look at it, its getting spark, its getting plenty of fuel, all fluids are good and we couldnt find any vacuum leaks anywhere.

Now the timing belt is a little loose is it possible it jumped a tooth? I know jumped timing spells death to our engines but if its one tooth off is it still death?

Well I found out the harness side pigtail for the CAS just gave out and 2 of 3 wires came off.

So I think that is all I would have to replace to get her running BUT since my sensor is soaked in oil from a leaking cam seal and my t belt is on my mind, I'm just gonna Do a complete timing job and replace the sensor with a new/different one, gonna replace cam seals and crank seal, replace my broken upper timing cover and try to install all the other shit i have stock piled lol

Ideally i would like to switch to a 1g CAS but I would have to find one for a reasonable price where as i can get a 2g cas from some locals.

I also just got offered a sweet deal on some parts i have been wanting forever so I may have a big update coming soon if things go my way.

Went to picknpull today, grabbed a "new" '95 CAS and harness pigtail for it, new sunroof dome assembly as mine were cracked and hacked into by previous owners, and this neat little non-cruise cubby that was recommended by DOHCstunr in his thread.
I figured since my cruise control doesn't work and i was going to get rid of it anyway that I would look for this piece and it was VERY HARD TO FIND fyi!
Literally the last 7g I found was a base model S with nothing extra added on and it had it same color as my interior too thankfully.

Sadly mko somebody must have picked up the GS that was in the yard as it is gone sorry I wasn't fast enough to grab you that ecu :[

Also for you 8g guys with the 4g64 there are a TON of the hyundai DOHC heads in my yard so just let me know if y'all want to get rid of that sohc.

Well I got the new CAS pigtail wired in and she started right up!! CEL went away in about 10 second too, what a relief!

I also got my new CV axle on. It was vibrating wierdly on the first test drive but cleared up and is fine now. Man what a difference a properly working cv joint makes lol.

Gonna get to the timing belt later this week along with motor mounts, headlights, and the gsx calipers.

    Will take pics too.

Thanks though recently she has been giving me a few of problems, like a typical dsm I guess
Main problem right now is my PTU socket on the harness side literally has fallen apart and the wires/pins are all separated so I need to hit up a yard and snag me some pigtails for that and some more for "insurance"
Also my brake reservoir cap cracked so thats a problem...

I don't plan on keeping her normal forever though. ;]

Thats why I switch to an Evo/Hyundai style ignition system

I that an easy thing to do? Because I am a total noob when it comes to most things involving, lets say removing a stock system and changing to something else lol
I find it easier, in this case anyway, to just solder and heat shrink in a new pigtail.

My car also isn't modified at all really so changing something like that isn't a priority/need right now I guess.

Nice build, it is always nice to a build on a 20 year old car! My previous build was a 1990 integer 4dr.

Found this at my doorstep last night after work

Inside I found these stuffed inside of a ton of paper.

I also had no idea that the "GALANT" is actually molded into the plastic on the JDM taillights.
On the USDM ones they were stickers, hence why both sets of US lights I have never had the word "GALANT" on them since I have owned either.

    Before:

    After:

    Thanks again Mitch!
I'll get some nighttime shots with the lights on tonight.
