6g74 TB on 8g or Outlander IM

I'm having a little fitment issue with this combo.

Is it normal for this TB to fit like this (This is on a Outlander IM and I don't have a gasket on the pic) even with the gasket it is never going to seal because the gasket isn't being crushed on that area. Do I have one of those 74 tb's that don't work for the swap?

I'm having some vacuum issues and I found this out today.

Please no noob questions or comments ;)

Need a block spacer there to make the thing seal. Even still, it's pretty pointless to use the 74 throttle body on a 4 cylinder. You'll never need 65mm and it you can't port the manifolds out far enough to actually use 65mm. The only time you should even bother witht he 60mm is what you get the outlander manifold and can actually port the mouth out to fit the 60mm bore.

You could put a 90mm on either manifold and it wouldn't make a difference. If the stock opening is 55mm, then that's all it's going to breath. Same goes with the 65mm. Putting a 65 on a 55 opening isn't going to do a thing.

Outlander IM tb bore is bigger than the galant one. I think I read a post made by Isaurio that stated that the Outlander IM and 74 TB bores matched perfectly. Me and my dad made a spacer, tomorrow we'll see how it goes

The outlander IM is 60mm and the 8G is 55mm, so putting the 65mm is feasible if you eventually port the IM. You might've just gotten the wrong year 6G74 TB... IDK what years to look for...

Yes, it's normal. You have to use a gasket from Diamante, it covers that area.

Have you done a boost leak on your g? I used a oem 74 gasket and it covered the area but doesn't seal it since it does not get crushed/pressed against the IM

The same problem is faced when putting the 74 tb on 75 manifolds. This is why I cut and reweld flanges, it doesn't seal unless the gasket is pinched.

Yep this looks to be a Outlander IM/74 tb specific and not many people run this combo, I cutted the oem 8g IM tb flange and it seals worlds better than with the outlander one but still isn't a 100%, I already have a spacer done that should solve the problem completely tomorrow we'll see and I'll try to post pics of everything

Not as good as it was said but still the bore size is closer between the TB and the outlander IM, but no were near gasket matched, its bigger than with oem IM
