120a battery fuse melting, why?

My battery fuse the 120a its melting. I dont get why but my car just died and thats the only thing I can find. What could be wrong?

something is shorting out probably, i would check the wiring on the alternator and starter first off.

Do you know how the fuse has to be wired? I think thats the problem the fuse holder cables are wrong.

i cant remember off the top of my head i removed mine a while ago.

i can't see how you could hook it up wrong though really. i think all the positives just bolt on to it.
something must be shorting out if its blowing an 120A fuse...
