What a shitty iphone video (tall screen).

Anyway with better sound close to the motor and away from the wind it'll be easier to tell. Sounds like the belt is too tight.

I couldn't hear anything other than an engine and wind noise. What are we listening for?

So the loud tone of the engine is what's different? Exhaust leak maybe? How's driving it?

My goodness, was he really holding the key in that long? Anyway, get under there and check your flex pipe section, it's probably got a leak if you think it's coming from behind the engine. That's the only thing I can think of.

alright so i got under there at and the flex pipe looks ok the cat converter is blown to hell, not even connected on one side, rusted through and so is some of the pipe afterwards, guy at the exhaust shop said 260 for a cat and piping , should i?

$260 for a cat and pipes? Go for it, just make sure you have an actual cat after the repair.

Was the first 30 seconds of the video your brother holding the key in the start position?? Has he ever started a car before??

If you post stupid and incorrect information, you will get red nuggets.

LOL! yes a few times hes started one, funny thing is i asked him just now why he held it, he says i thought it would turn off if i let it go. i replied but you did it before, he said i know and walked away, so i might chalk it up to hilariously stupid or sabotage, and ill get the cat done in the morn thanks guys! report back then

Some cars do use the ignition switch as a momentary trigger, I know most recent Fords you can hang on the key all day, once the engine starts the starter disengages (I know this first hand). Nowadays it's all keyless so they're all computer controlled. Ours is still good ol' fashioned hard wired, if you hang, it'll hang.
