HELP!New starter and new battery still just clicking

I put in a new starter and brand new battery on my 2002 2.4 and still will click when I turn it over an average of 10 times before it finally starts. what could this be?

check all your connections, esp to the battery and starter.

I have. is there a relay or fuse for the starter? would the ignition switch have the same symptoms? its been doing this for about a month

You may try adding a Relay between the switch and the starter solenoid, the higher the amperage the better, 40 to 70 amps works; also use a good gauge cable for this (12-14 min.). I had that same issue, since I installed a 70 amp relay, never had the problem.

This is a common problem with higher mileage 8Gs, if I remember right. It's the ignition switch. It's not an expensive part or difficult to do.
